This week, Vanguard Academy is proud to recognize National Arts in Education Week and celebrate our amazing Fine Arts teachers across Vanguard Academy. Our Fine Arts teachers pour their hearts into our students each day. Through art, music, band, mariachi, dance, theatre, and so much more, they help our students discover their talents, build confidence, and find a place where they can shine.

Beginning Monday, September 14, bus students will be released at 3:45 p.m., immediately after school dismissal. This change will help ensure that all students receive adequate academic instructional time.
Buses will begin loading students at 3:45 p.m. and depart campus approximately 10 minutes later at 3:55 p.m.
Secondary students must report directly to their assigned bus at dismissal. Elementary students will continue to be escorted to their buses by school staff.
Morning bus routes and schedules will remain unchanged.
Please review the new estimated afternoon arrival times below:
Hidalgo Route (Walmart) – 4:10 p.m.
Hidalgo Route (Whataburger) – 4:15 p.m.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we implement this updated schedule.

the secondary building experienced a small fire in their Art Class room. The source of the fire is being investigated at the moment.
Please note that the Secondary teacher and staff acted swiftly with our admin and our district security team. Pharr Fire Dept responded quicky.
Our staff and students evacuated quickly and were safe at all times. Thank you to all students and staff for acting quickly and helping keep order.
As of 10:40 this morning, the fire dept has cleared our elementary and secondary campus to return to the building and continue operations like normal. This has caused a 15 minute delay in our lunch times, but we are adjusting our schedule to ensure all student eat lunch like normal.

Yesterday, we were made aware that rumors of a threat to our Van Gogh campus were communicated among students. This was subsequently reported to campus administration at both the elementary and secondary levels.
An internal investigation was conducted to assess the validity and credibility of these reports. After a thorough investigation, we found no information to substantiate the reported threat.
We continue to follow all established safety protocols. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are of the utmost importance, and we take all reports and concerns seriously.
Thank you for partnering with us by reminding your child(ren) to please report any concerning messages, posts, behaviors, or other information to a trusted adult or school staff member immediately. We also ask that students and families refrain from sharing or amplifying unverified information.
We appreciate your continued partnership and support as we work together to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all of our students and staff.
